One roof. All Performances.
As part of Doane’s bold Our Time to Lead campaign, the Glenn Korff Performing Arts Center (PAC) is taking shape—bringing to life a vision of expanded opportunities, artistic excellence, and transformative student experiences.
Theatre and Music for the future
The Glenn Korff Performing Arts Center (PAC) will include a renovation to the Music Department on the south side of the Communications Building and a new addition on the northeast side for a brand-new theatre.
The Theatre Addition will be three levels and approximately 24,000 square feet (SF).
The Music Addition will include approximately 13,000 SF of new spaces and 6,000 SF of renovated space to ensure the building will meet the needs of the Music Department well into the future.
Theatre that's unrivaled
The theatre portion of the PAC includes a high-tech, black box theatre that can seat 223 people. All audience members will be greeted with a modern, comfortable viewing experience, and a carefully crafted sound experience will ensure the words from the stage reach all corners of the space. A walkable tension grid, various catwalks, and motorized line sets will create limitless possibilities more efficiently and safely.
A green room will serve the performers and backstage crew during productions and act as a meeting space at other times. Dressing rooms will serve each production by night and function as a laboratory or classroom space by day. Additionally, a scenery construction shop will allow scenery to flow almost effortlessly from the shop to the stage.
Music making at it's finest
The music addition and renovation will include a large rehearsal room, studio offices for teaching, a piano lab, a band room, a music education room, and two additional classrooms.
This renovation will introduce the Dr. Tom Tonniges Hall of Music in honor of the Doane Vagabonds.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. Band Director Andrew Feyes sees this as a game-changer for rehearsals, with more room to let creativity flow. “It’s going to have a massive ripple effect here at Doane,” he shared. And Choir Director Kurt Runestad couldn’t agree more, calling this moment a pivotal one in Doane’s story.
Cohesive and Collaborative Creativity
Construction is already underway on the music addition and renovation, located on the southeast corner of the Communications Building.
Relative to fiscal year planning, the Music addition is scheduled to be completed in late spring/early summer of 2026, and the Theatre addition is scheduled for completion by late summer/early fall of 2026.
