Our Donors Are Critical
For more than 150 years, Doane has provided a premier liberal arts education as one of the leading universities in Nebraska. This has only been possible because of the support of many generous donors.
What Donors Mean to Doane
At Doane University, every gift tells a story — a story of hope, of opportunity, and of belief in a brighter future. Our donors are far more than contributors; they are champions of every student who dares to dream bigger and reach farther. Their generosity fuels the spirit of innovation on our campuses, opens doors for students who might otherwise be left behind, and strengthens the foundation of academic excellence that has defined Doane for generations.
When you give to Doane, you become part of a living legacy — one built not just on tradition, but on transformation. Each scholarship, facility, and program bears the fingerprints of our donors’ compassion and vision. The future of Doane University is being shaped by the kindness, trust, and commitment of those who believe in the power of education to change lives.

Our Donors' Stories

The Oppenheims have found giving to Doane through their IRA required minimum distribution (RMD) to be a mutually beneficial, efficient way to support Doane. It allows them to make an annual contribution to support the areas that mean the most to them: wrestling and the Doane Fund.
For many students, budgeting for college isn’t just a good habit to develop on the path to adulthood. It’s an incredibly careful balancing act to make sure that the funds of each month can stretch to cover. That’s why six alumni created the NexTus Scholarship Fund.
“I have always felt that education is the key to the future. My comment to every high school or college student is to finish and “get the piece of paper.” My sincerest desire was to make a difference in a student’s life. We are honored to be making an impact on students’ lives,” he said.
Doane alumni Caitie Leibman ’11 and Billy Garver ’11 have long believed in the power of a Doane education. Inspired by the opportunities and mentorship they received as students, the two have come together to establish two endowed funds that will support future generations of Tigers in meaningful, lasting ways.
