“Unsure of what I wanted to be, I toured Doane as a math prospect because I liked solving puzzles, and baseball analytics was a passion project. Not only did Math faculty member Peggy Hart convince me that math was the correct field of study, but that, at Doane, I would be able to work on projects directly related to baseball.
The faculty make Doane tick, particularly those who get to know their students well. At larger institutions or institutions with high faculty turnover, you lack the ability to build relationships with people that can help you both in and outside of the classroom. Doane has faculty that, if given a job/project description, they would be able to name the students that would be best suited.
I give back to Doane to support the people who have supported me and to ensure that the experiences I had can be had by others.”
